Recent News and Upcoming Events

On February 11, Twin Cities Youth Chorale will perform at the Minnesota Music Educators annual convention.  The concert will take place at 2 PM at Central Lutheran Church, 333 12th Street South in Minneapolis.  Free passes to the concert are available here.

On February 28, Twin Cities Youth Chorale will host the Robbinsdale 5th Grade All-District Choir and the Minneapolis Youth Chorus for our first annual Children’s Choir Festival.  The festival, to be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, will conclude with a free concert featuring the three choirs in individual and combined performance.  The concert begins at 3 PM.  The public is invited to attend.

The choir festival is being made possible, in part, by funds provided by the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council through a grant from the McKnight Foundation and an appropriation by the Minnesota Legislature.

Who We Are

Twin Cities Youth Chorale is a 115-member nonprofit auditioned choral group under the artistic direction of Julie Bright, Diane Nielsen, and Ann Wingert-Williams.  Membership is open to Twin Cities area youth entering 4th through 8th grades in September 2009.  All newcomers, with and without musical experience, are welcome!

What We Do

We inspire young singers to pursue excellence in choral music through education and performances in local and regional concert venues. Participants are welcome regardless of gender, race, or creed. The Twin Cities Youth Chorale is affordable and our schedule is family friendly.  Tuition assistance may be available for families demonstrating financial need. 

Singers will:

  • Develop leadership, poise, discipline, teamwork, caring and citizenship
  • Acquire aesthetic appreciation of world culture
  • Develop the value of service to community
  • Learn healthy, age-appropriate vocal training providing foundation for life-long singing
  • Cultivate creativity through innovative musical selections and performances
  • Experience varied and rich collaborative performance experiences
  • Improve music literacy through carefully crafted music preparation

When We Meet

Weekly Tuesday rehearsals from September through May.
